If you haven’t already heard about them, let me introduce you to Ryan Stone Music (RSM). I first heard about Ryan Stone Music through a former co-worker and friend because her husband is the drummer for the band. To me, RSM sounds like a mix of Dave Matthews
Band and John Mayer. They’re indie/alternative-rock but also have some songs that could sound a bit like pop music.
When I was working for a non-profit a couple of years ago, I was able to get Ryan Stone Music to perform at our Walk. They were a huge success and were brought back the next year because the crowd was so fond of them. They were one of the few bands who were able to draw up a crowd by the stage at an event that has a multitude of things going on for entertainment.
Ever since I received my CD of some of RSM hits, it hasn’t left my car. It’s usually found in the CD player. Anyone I’ve given a copy to, so they can experience RSM, have quickly become fans. If you want to experience this great local Miami band for yourself, check them out on Facebook or go catch them performing at a local bar. Some of their songs are available for free downloads on their Facebook page and you can also find some on iTunes. One of my personal favorites, though I have a few, is a track by the titles 1 and 1 makes 3 – check it out! Their latest song, Go Higher, can also be downloaded for free and was done for the clothing line by the same name. I hope you enjoy this local Miami band as much as I do and that I’ve helped you discover some talent you might have missed.
Do you have a favorite local band? What’s your favorite spot to listen to live music?
